What happens when surgical excellence, international collaboration, and a shared mission come together? At our ESEG Masterclass course in gynecological oncology, held in Guangzhou, China, we brought together leading minds and passionate clinicians from across continents for learning, exchange, and innovation.
The successful premiere of our first Masterclass course in gynecological oncology at the Guangzhou Women and Children Medical Center, one of China's leading institutions for women's health. The course created a truly engaging and intellectually vibrant atmosphere with a select group of around 30 highly motivated clinical participants, emphasizing the core ESEG mission: empowering professionals through meaningful surgical education and global collaboration.
Over two days, participants experienced an intensive and multidimensional learning journey. The scientific program combined carefully structured lectures with interactive discussions and the opportunity to witness real-time surgical excellence through live webcasted operations directly from the operating room. These live surgeries offered a rare and valuable look into intraoperative strategies, instrumentation, and expert decision-making, showcasing advanced techniques in vessel sealing and argon surgery applied to treat complex gynecological cancers. The sessions covered a wide range of oncological focus areas, including cervical and ovarian cancer, lymphadenectomy, and radical hysterectomy, ensuring a comprehensive clinical foundation.
The quality of dialogue set the event apart – the podium discussions and group conversations encouraged reflection, exchange of international experience, and case-based insights, all framed within a supportive and collegial atmosphere. The course was guided by our esteemed scientific chairmen, Prof. Liangqing Yao (China) and Prof. Dominik Denschlag (Germany), both recognized leaders in gynecological oncology. Alongside them, a distinguished international faculty brought depth and diversity to the sessions: Prof. Lei Yuan (China), Prof. Jie Chen (China), and Prof. Neha Kumar (India). Their combined expertise enriched every aspect of the course, from theory to practice, and reflected the true spirit of cross-border medical collaboration.
Participants also had the opportunity to join a guided hospital tour, exploring the cutting-edge infrastructure and treatment environment at Guangzhou Women and Children Medical Center. This hands-on component and the evening welcome dinner allowed for informal networking, peer connection, and further cultural and professional exchange.
At ESEG, we believe in building a global platform where expertise, technology, and education come together. This Masterclass in Guangzhou has reaffirmed our belief in the importance of direct knowledge exchange and personal engagement in advancing clinical practice. We are incredibly grateful to our hosts, our outstanding faculty, and all participants who made this course such a memorable and impactful event.
This is only the beginning — and we look forward to continuing this journey with more international courses, new partnerships, and even greater momentum in our mission to elevate gynecological surgery worldwide.
